The Rover...

Opposite the port of Thessaloniki there is the old market of Ladadika which now is transformed into an imortant tourist attraction. Restaurants, cafes and night clubs are always full of visitors.

Here we walk down Salaminos street and we see The Rover all day cafe bar.

Few things about Thessaloniki

Hi, I am Christina Andromeda (the last is a nickname) and this is my beloved city Thessaloniki.
Through beautiful pictures and simple words, I will try to give you an idea of how this city and its daily life looks like.

Thessaloniki or Salonique is a really easy going place of North Greece, were life flows slowly and people spend most of their time outside, meeting friends between work and studies.

The history of this city, which has been an important crossroad of South Europe and Balkans, begins back in the Hellenistic period. Since then, countless conquerors and refugees have left their mark in this place. Each page of this city's history is written with the blood of the inocents. Sad stories of past wars and slaughters and numerous familly dramas. That's why Thessaloniki is a melancholic place full of memories and people who have lived here want to return back.

As you walk down its streets you can hear the voices of the past lovers. Each corner keeps a kiss and each road leads to a love story. Humid and foggy through winter, brightfull and cheerful through summer, Thessaloniki always makes you to fall in love... The only thing you have to do is to follow the sea...

A cloudy day ...
